Love Island's Gemma Owen makes telling confession as Davide accused of mind games

Gemma Owen admitted she may have made a big mistake over who she decided to pursue on Love Island, as Davide Sanclimenti and Luca Bish clashed over her on Friday's show and viewers accused Davide of mind games.

At the end of Thursday's episode of the ITV2 dating series, millions of viewers saw Luca summon up the courage to invite Gemma for a chat on the villa terrace, away from the prying eyes and ears of their fellow Islanders and it was during the chat that Luca, coupled up with Paige, made a serious play for Gemma, asking her about her dad - Michael Owen if you weren't already aware! - and saying he wanted to kiss her and 'would swap beds,' if he could.

Gemma stayed more coy on the matter, turning down his request of a kiss, while admitting she wanted to get to know him and telling him he would be the boy who would get on best with her family. Gemma's current Love Island love interest Davide, was quickly alerted to the chat and in the opening part of Friday's programme, Davide and Gemma had a rather stern chat about her conversation with Luca.

She was rather taken aback when he said that if she wanted to get to know Luca, he would tell her "to f**k off," with her replying: "That's a bit harsh." After being far from impressed with Gemma, Davide then moved onto Luca, but Luca wasn't afraid to stand his ground.

The big change to the early days of Love Island this series was that rather than the girls stepping forward for the boys who caught their eye on the first day in the villa, the pairings had already been decided by the public, with Gemma put with Liam, who looks to have quit the show after just five days.

She then pursued Davide when he entered as a late arrival but, speaking in the Beach Hut after her far from rosy conversation with the Italian, Gemma said: "Because it's so early days, I feel that potentially we wouldn't be in this situation 'cos, if it was, I probably would have stepped forward for Luca from the get-go.

Reacting to what they saw on scree and taking exception to Davide's behaviour, one viewer tweeted: "davide is literally playing mind games," with another posting: "Awful behaviour there from Davide. Not acceptable."
