Love Island’s Gemma Owen lands six-figure deal with online retailer PrettyLittleThing

Love Island’s Gemma Owen has landed a “six-figure deal” with online clothing retailer PrettyLittleThing.

The 19-year-old daughter of Michael Owen is the latest UK brand ambassador for the global fashion website after they signed Love Island 2019 runner-up Molly-Mae Hague, 23.

Hague became the retailer’s creative director last August and is estimated to be worth a whopping £4.5million.

Owen’s year-long partnership with the clothing brand will see her create content for the brand’s social-media channels and launch her own collections.

Not only that, but she will also help the brand launch PLT Marketplace, a platform where customers can resell clothes.

Speaking about her new venture, Owen told MailOnline: “This really is a dream come true for me.

“I wore PrettyLittleThing throughout my time on the show and now being announced as one of their newest ambassadors alongside some incredible talent including Love Island alumni is really special.

“The team has been amazing and I’m excited to get to work and start designing some collections for you all.”

PrettyLittleThing CEO Umar Kamani said the company was “excited” to have the ITV2 star on board.

He added: “Gemma is the perfect person to represent the PLT consumer; she’s smart, confident, ambitious, and has a much loved, relatable style.”

Meanwhile, Owen has revealed that her Love Island partner Luca Bish’s first meeting with footballer dad Michael Owen went successfully.

The international dressage rider and swimwear designer appeared on Capital Breakfast’s radio show last week to drop the relationship update since exiting the Love Island villa with Bish as runners-up.

Owen remarked that 23-year-old Bish’s first meeting with her father, Michael Owen, went down during their family holiday in Portugal and that it “couldn’t have gone better”.

The couple is yet to go official with labels, but that has not stopped them from making plans to move in together in the future.

Owen told radio show hosts Rob Howard and Lauren Layfield about the family trip abroad, saying: “It couldn’t have gone better, it was so nice!

“We got away for four days, it was a bit of like, got a bit of content, bit of chill time but yeah it was a really nice environment for him to meet everyone.

“They all get on really well and how he was with my brothers and sisters as well, like, so cute!”

On boyfriend and girlfriend labels, she added: “I mean, I know I said in the villa let’s wait till we get out, I want you to meet the family, let’s not rush it, but now I’m like, okay…”

Following Love Island winners Ekin-Su and Davide announcing their plans to move in together in September around the Essex area, Owen and fishmonger Bish, from Brighton, have pondered the question.

She said: “In the future, for sure, right now we’re all just trying to settle down with our new lives, but I think definitely.

“Let’s be [boyfriend and] girlfriend and then we can talk about moving in together!”
