Love Island’s long-time couple Gemma Owen and Luca Bish have finished the show in second place after a tense live finale episode.
The couple, who have divided opinions after a rocky conclusion to their journey in the villa, declared their love for each other alongside their fellow finalists.
The duo have split the nation. Many loved their stubborn relationship but some were concerned over Luca's behaviour in recent episodes.
And now, fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts about Gemma and Luca coming second to this year's winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.
One user looked on the bright side and said: "For some reasons I'm happy Gemma and Luca didn't win,the hate on Luca would have sky rocket, I'm happy for them."
"Gemma & Luca coming second makes no sense to me," one fan said while another added: "Gemma and Luca in the top 2 had me stressing for a sec."
Gemma and Luca have been in the villa since day one and received generous odds from the bookmakers that they would be crowned the winning couple.
Betfred had the pair as 10/1 to take home the £50,000 cash prize, after being the only couple to stay loyal to each other throughout the entire series.
However, the Brighton fishmonger and international dressage rider, who is footballer Michael Owen’s daughter, have come under scrutiny in recent weeks amid accusations Luca was being ‘controlling’ in the relationship.
During Sunday night's episode, Luca fumed at his housemates after discovering three other couples had voted him and Gemma one of the least compatible couples just days before the big final.
Luca and Gemma, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti all had votes from other islanders, while Adam Collard and Paige Thorne were also left vulnerable and ultimately dumped from the villa following the public’s votes.
However, the other islanders seemed to handle it with a pinch of salt, with Ekin-Su promising to “put things behind” her despite knowing that all four other couples had voted for her and Davide.
After knowing the public had saved him, Luca sat down again by the firepit and whispered to Gemma: “I’m going to have some fun tonight,” hinting at a brewing argument.
Dami later confessed to Luca that he had voted for him and later sat down with Gemma and Luca to explain his reasoning.
They hadn't been alone though – with Paige and Adam, as well as Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti having also opted to vote for Luca and Gemma in the recent vote.
Speaking with Dami and Indiyah, Luca said: "We know you picked us. I want to know why really. I don't think the whole time you've ever said 'oh I don't think you [two] are compatible'. You know how strong we are."

Indiyah responded by saying that her and Dami don't feel that way, commenting: "It's not that you're not compatible, that wasn't the question. It's the least compatible."
Sharing the reasons for their vote, she suggested it was due to some tension, saying: "We know arguments are normal but it's the stuff you're arguing about and how they end."
Asked to expand, she added: "Small little things like you lot in the challenge and your sort of protectiveness – I feel like it was a little bit blown out of proportion."
Dami commented: "It's not that we don't think you're compatible at all. We do think you're a strong couple. [...] Our opinion doesn't mean anything at the end of the day."
