Love Island's Gemma Owen and Luca Bish announce split

Love Islanders Gemma Owen and Luca Bish have split after three months together. The pair met on the hit ITV show this summer, but ultimately lost out to Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu and Davide Sanclimenti.

Gemma, whose dad is former England international Michael Owen, and fishmonger Luca's bond however seemed to go from strength-to-strength after leaving the villa. The pair made their relationship official 11 weeks ago in an Instagram post.

However, Gemma took to her Instagram stories tonight to announce they had broken up. She said: "I wanted to let you know that Luca and I are no longer in a relationship. It wasn't an easy decision but ultimately this is what is best for us both right now.

"Many of you have been on this journey with us from the very beginning and I want to thank you for your continued support as we start new chapters."

The pair were last pictured together a week ago on Luca's Instagram feed. He shared a number of videos and a photo with the caption: "Experiencing another first with you @gemowen_1 - Bonfire night" followed by a tick and firework emoji.

Reports earlier this week had suggested the pair had called time on their relationship. It came as Luca was reportedly pictured at the TV Choice Awards on his own, with Gemma opting not to attend the event.

A source close to the couple told MailOnline on Wednesday: "Gemma and Luca have decided to part ways. Their relationship hasn't worked for the last few weeks, and they have come to the conclusion that it's better for them both to end things now."
