Love Island's first look finally drops as Maya Jama takes over from Laura Whitmore

Love Island teaser clips have finally dropped ahead of the new season with brand new host Maya Jama.

After Laura Whitmore announced her departure as host of the dating competition, fan-favourite Maya stepped in to replace her.

And during tonight's episode of Emmerdale, viewers will catch a glimpse of the gorgeous star in new teasers.

The next series will be held in South Africa and one of the teasers features Maya's silhouette in front of a red background.

Bright lights suddenly switch on and the camera zooms in on Maya smirking with her hands on her hips.

Another teaser features a crushed red velvet bronco spinning around. Both clips only last a few seconds.

The winter series of Love Island will be returning to screens in January. An exact date is yet to be revealed.

The new South African villa for the winter instalment of the show was recently revealed and is the biggest villa of the series, located in a 'secluded and protected' area in the Franschhoek wine valley in South Africa.

According to reports, work has been underway at the luxury eco-retreat as ITV2 gears up for the new season next year.

With gorgeous mountain viewers and peace and quiet in the secluded area, the new contestants will be safer than ever.

The gigantic villa generates its own electricity, water and has numerous food sources, making it the perfect eco-friendly TV destination.

Announcing the news of the winter series return, Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning and Controller at ITV2, said: "Love Island has once again proved itself to be the nation’s favourite talking point across the summer, and we’re always blown away by the show’s ongoing impact and talkability amongst our younger audience.

"So, rather than just serving up a Summer of Love, we thought we’d make 2023 the Year of Love with two full series of the show."

Meanwhile, Maya has been preparing for her role as the new host of the ITV2 competition.

The TV presenter posted a snap to her Instagram Stories alongside her personal trainer in the gym ahead of the return of the hit dating show.

"I GOT A MESSAGE," he wrote to his fans alongside an island emoji. "Love Island, your new host is in shape and ready."

Love Island returns this January on ITV2 and ITVX.
