Love Island's famous offspring - and how they fared - as Michael Owen's daughter signs up

It's hard to believe it's almost time for Love Island, but one of the contestants already has quite a following.

Gemma Owen, 19, is the daughter of former England footballer Michael.

The stunning brunette has thousands of fans on Instagram and reckons she has a competitive nature, just like her dad.

Speaking ahead of next week's debut, she said: “I’ve competed for Great Britain in dressage since I was 11-years-old. I’ve travelled all across Europe competing in big arenas in big competitions. I would say I’m very competitive.

"When it comes to relationships I will always go for what I want."

Of course Gemma isn't the only famous offspring to go after what she wants.

Dani Dyer and Belle Hassan also rolled the dice - with varying results.

Dani Dyer

As Danny Dyer's daughter, Dani had big shoes to fill.

The EastEnders actor is known for his no-nonsense attitude.

But Dani had a rocky road to love on the show.

The mum-of-one broke fans' hearts when she ended up in tears after finding out her beau Jack Fincham had been unfaithful in the past.

However that didn't stop the pair waltzing off with the prize money.

After winning the show the couple tried to make a go of things when they returned from Majorca.

But it wasn't to be.

They split up shortly after with Dani rekindling her relationship with the now disgraced conman Sammy Kimmence.

During an episode of Sorted with the Dyers podcast, the former dental nurse admitted her dad didn't want her to go on the show.

She said: "He didn't like me. We didn't really talk. It was very awkward. Oh my god, I'd walk into the room and it would be so awkward."

"No we didn't talk," Danny confessed. "I think I was upset because we were very close and you'd spoke about it to everyone, I was the last f***er."

Danis now dating West Ham footballer Jarrod Bowen, who is said to have received Hammers fan Danny's seal of approval.

Belle Hassan

Belle's dad Tamer Hussan is a well-known actor, starring in Football Factory and Game of Thrones.

Crediting her dad with giving her a "link to the famous world", Belle rocked up at Casa Amor in 2015.

Speaking ahead of her debut she said Tamer was: "a very supportive dad... he is like my best friend and is always there for me

“He’s told me to be myself but has also warned me ‘I’m watching and I’m going to be seeing every detail’.”

Hopefully Tamer didn't see every detail when his daughter shacked up with with Anton Danyluk in the villa.

However despite striking up a romance under the sun, the pair split just five weeks after the show, with Belle reportedly fed up with her beau's partying ways.

Missy Keating

Ronan Keating's daughter Missy is rumoured to be joining this year's bevy of beautie s in the villa.

The Boyzone star's eldest daughter, 21, is thought to be jetting off to Majorca for some fun in the sun.

And Ronan didn't do anything to quash rumours on Good Morning Britain when asked about the speculation.

He said coyly: "I haven’t heard anything," before adding, "You never know. These kids are busy, all my kids, they’re all doing different things. I haven’t heard anything myself at the moment."

The singer also admitted that while he’s a big Love Island fan, he would struggle watching his daughter on the show.

"I don’t know how I’d feel about it,’ he told hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.

"I wouldn’t be able to watch."

*Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 6th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
