Love Island's Ekin-Su reveals she reached out to fan who was close to taking their own life

Love Island's Ekin-Su has spoken how she helped a fan who was close to taking their own life, after they reached out to her in a desperate cry for help.

The TV personality, 28, candidly detailed her own mental health struggles after soaring to fame on the show with boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti.

Ekin-Su revealed she spoke to a distressed fan who was suicidal, with the star's support stopping her follower from ending their life.

"Sometimes I feel sad. I'll have a moment and feel really emotional. Then I'll see Davide and he'll tell me I'm doing really well and that helps," she said.

"It can just be overwhelming. Sometimes it's tears of joy. I want to give me to everyone, but how? So I'll just burst into tears."

"People will ask advice. Someone who was so close to taking their own life messaged me on Instagram. I reached out and it stopped. That made me sad," Ekin-Su added in her interview with The Sun.

The Love Island star admitted she feels a great responsibility being a role model to her fans and feels the pressure in followers looking up to her.

Two months after winning Love Island, Ekin-Su admitted she and Davide Sanclimenti, 27, “hardly see each other” as they’re so busy with work.

And they were caught on camera having explosive arguments while filming their new show in Italy and Turkey.

“He’s my biggest supporter, he’s so proud of me,” Ekin-Su exclusively told the Mirror earlier this week.

“He always says to me that regardless of whatever happens with us, I’m always here for you and will support you and that’s really reassuring for me.

“It’s hard because we hardly see each other recently but we’ve gotten a lot closer than I though which is nice.”

Ekin-Su admitted coming out of the villa after winning the £50,000 prize was “very overwhelming” and they didn’t have much time to “focus on us”.

But now the couple are “falling harder” in love with each other than ever.

“I’ve seen Davide in different situations, he sees more of a calmer Ekin-Su and more of my caring side and I see the same,” she said.
