Love Island's Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti have called it quits 11 months after being crowned the winning couple.
Announcing the split on social media this evening, Davide wishes "nothing but the best" for his former villa romance. The Italien added that he will always cherish the memories they shared and will continue to support her, while Ekin-Su has not yet spoken on the breakup.
Posting to Instagram on Thursday he wrote: "Ekin-Su and I are no longer together. I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared together and I wish her nothing but the best.
"I would like for everybody to respect this decision during this difficult time. I will continue to support Ekin in any way possible."
While Ekin-Su has stayed silent, the ITV2 dating show winner has been posting to her Instagram stories throughout today, sharing some sweet family snaps. The Turkish reality star beamed as she reunited with her mum and her aunts on holiday, reports the Mirror.
Ekin-Su, 28, and Italian businessman Davide, 27, triumphed in the final of the reality TV show last summer. Since then, the pair have travelled the world together, and regularly posted updates about their relationship with their millions of fans on social media.
Just a number of days ago, the former couple appeared loved up as they attended a movie premiere together in London. However, things may not have been as rosy as they seemed after things took a turn for the worst on their recent getaway to Amsterdam.
According to insiders, Ekin and Davide haven't been getting along as well as they would have liked to, and for "some time". A source close to the pair told The Sun:"They haven't been getting along for quite some time and they really tried to make it work, but despite their best efforts, they've decided to call it quits."
It comes after Ekin recently revealed that she would consider moving back to her homeland of Turkey to pursue her acting career. "I would actually love to go back to Turkey at some point and reconnect with some old agencies out there, who I was in a soap with," she said last month.
"I speak both English and Turkish so why can't I have a career in both countries? It is a hard industry and I think people always tell you, 'You can't do this, you can't do that,' but you have to keep pushing yourself really.
Even when people say no, you have to keep going. I definitely wouldn't say no to Turkey."
