Davide Sanclimenti has shared his thoughts on Maya Jama after it was claimed the presenter has signed to become the new host of Love Island.
The self-proclaimed Italian stallion is riding high after winning this summer's series with girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and has just released his debut collection with boohooMAN.
AndDavide, 27, had nothing but praise for Bristol-born Maya who last week found herself in the spotlight amid reports she had been "confirmed" as the new Love Island presenter.
It comes just months after Laura Whitmore announced she would be stepping down from the show to focus on other projects.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror about the news, Davide said: "I've done Love Island, I've done Love Island with Laura Whitmore.
"If she's going to be the new host, she's going to be great, I'm happy for her, I'm happy for the ITV team."
Sources claimed that Maya had originally been considered as a replacement for Caroline Flack two years ago but are now looking forward to her "making the show her own".
An insider said: "They're just in the process of finalising the last few details but barring any huge surprises she will be announced formally very soon, they are just dotting the i's and crossing the t's."
Davide recently found himself being plastered across a huge billboard in New York's Times Square as he launched his collection, which he photographed in New York's Little Italy.
Speaking about his collection, he explained: "I feel like my collection is for a lot of different ranges of people.
"So even if you're 20, 30 or a 40-year-old man, you can actually wear it because it's a symbol which is suitable for the age.
"I feel like we did something that could be good even if you want to dress smart or casual for any occasion."
Meanwhile, Davide recently revealed that he had been approached for Dancing On Ice which is set to return to screens in 2023.
He told The Sun: "I have so much going on and I can't commit to something every day and when I do something I want to do it properly.
"Right now I just can't focus on something like that, for the moment anyway, but in the future maybe I will."
However, his girlfriend Ekin-Su recently became the third contestant to be announced for the competition.
