Love Island's Coco on 'lonely' time in villa as days dragged after Andrew dumping

Coco Lodge has opened up on her “lonely” time in the Love Island villa.

The graphic designer from Surrey was brutally dumped from the show last Friday after Andrew Le Page recoupled with Tasha Ghouri.

Now back in the UK, the 27-year-old has lifted the lid on what it’s really like being a contestant on the ITV2 dating show – and it’s not as fun as you might think.

“It can be quite boring,” she told MailOnline. “The days can be so long. It doesn’t get dark until 9 or 10pm, so it really does drag.

“I thought it would still be super fun even if you’re single in there, but it can be quite lonely if you’re not in a couple.”

Coco revealed even more Love Island secrets during an interview with Capital Breakfast earlier this week.

She told listeners there are long breaks between the bombshells and the original contestants, so producers can film both villas - unbeknown to viewers.

"We're separated from the boys for long periods of time, so our time to graft is like really, really small, which is why when we're kissing them straight away.”

“It looks a bit desperate but actually like, we have to get in there, because otherwise we won't make it back," she explained.

Coco then shared how Islanders are able to communicate in secret.

"We write messages to each other on the phone and hide it under the duvet so they [producers] can't see," she revealed.

"With the boys, I think they did it before the Casa Amor recoupling to tell each other who they're picking, so it wasn’t so secret, so the boys knew who to have their back."

She also discussed what happens off camera when the girls are waiting to film their stint in Casa Amor.

"Us girls would just sit there staring at the boys working out in the gym, just talking about our dogs , Mollie would be saving bugs from the pool," she continued.

"We'd have loads of fun and it just made our friendships stronger, and we also had a 24-hour break before the Casa Amor recoupling just to get into the boys' head a bit, so have them thinking about whether we are the better option than all their girls.

"I think there was maybe an hour of filming just when you get the text."

Coco was also seen getting close to Italian Stallion Davide (ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

Despite snogging Davide Sanclimenti in Casa Amor, Coco confessed she is now rooting for him and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu to win.

And she revealed that although Andrew did the dirty on her by going back to Tasha, she has no hard feelings towards him.

She said: "Me and Andrew have no bad blood between us anymore.

“I still think he took things a bit far with me, however, I do understand when someone has a hold over you like Tasha has a hold over him, you can't forget them.

"As soon as that person comes back it’s hard to want to pursue both when you have such strong feelings for someone because you’ve known them a lot longer."

She added: “I do wish maybe things were handled a bit differently and it didn’t go as deep with us in Casa. It is what it is and we’re cool."
