Love Island's Brad finds love in a completely different way as he shares incredible family union

Love Island's Brad McClelland had a cruel end to his time in the Spanish villa last week.

But while he may not have found love, his appearance on the ITV2 dating show has lead to an incredible family union.

The 26-year-old left the show following a classic Love Island twist which saw him and his partner Lucinda Strafford, 21, face being dumped from the island.

It was up to their fellow Islanders to make the decision, however, Brad decided to leave and told Lucinda to stay to see if there were any more "opportunities" for her.

Appearing on Tuesday's Lorraine on ITV, the labourer from Amble, Northumberland, spoke about his experience on the show and whether he had any regrets about leaving.

But host Ranvir Singh also spoke to him about his family life.

Brad has lived with his Nana since he was four-years-old and he quickly reunited with her after leaving the villa.

"She didn't want the show before I went on so she had no idea what it was," Brad said of Joyce.

"I think she complained about a few things that were happening in there," he laughed.

Asked if he got a telling off when he got home, Brad said: "No, she cried a lot. My friends, family and even neighbours were coming past while I was in the garden and saying how proud they were of us.

"I think my Nana started getting upset for the appreciation I was getting."

Ranvir then moved on to ask Brad about the "incredible" thing that has happened in his family life since appearing on Love Island.

"Four million people are watching, everyone knows what you look like. Then what happened..." the host prompted.

"I grew up just with my Nana, my dad wasn't on the scene," Brad explained. "But I always knew I had a sister.

"[I] tried to get in contact for years, searching social media. I just had her name.

"Then basically, she reached out to us and the first time I have ever seen her or heard her voice was just a couple of days ago."

He added: "My plan now is obviously now to have a relationship with her so if anything has come from my Love Island experience it's finding her."

"You've found family love," Ranvir said to which Brad agreed.
