Love Island’s baby challenge returns tonight as Gemma and Luca discuss kids after row

Love Island will see the return of the wailing babies in the villa in tonight’s episode of the ITV2 dating show, new spoilers have confirmed.

Fans were delighted over the weekend when Laura Whitmore confirmed the baby challenge would take place in a matter of days.

The hilarious task sees the remaining couples tasked with taking care of a realistic doll, which cries and needs feeding and changing, to see how they cope as parents together.

Tonight in the Love Island villa, the Islanders become parents as they wake up in the morning to the sound of babies crying from the living room.

Waking up, Ekin-Su questions: “Wait, what is that noise?” Tasha laughs: “This is my nightmare, I’ve actually woken up to a nightmare.”

As the Islanders name, dress, feed, comfort and play with their babies, their skills as parents are being put to the test, with an award for the best parents up for grabs at the end of the day.

Davide says of parenting: “It’s going well, she just ate, we’ll do some activities later today. We’ll do some gym squats later with the baby.”

But a text inviting the mums out for a brunch heralds Daddy Day Care.

Andrew says: “We can have a dad’s bonding session with the kids!”

Who steps up to the plate? And what do the mums have to say about their partner’s skills?

Later in tonight’s episode, the Islanders enjoy a baby disco once the parents are reunited for a family night out.

Tasha says: “I had the time of my life, this is so adorable!”

Later a game of pass the parcel brings with it the result of the challenge. But who has triumphed in this parental challenge?

And after a tuneful rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star led by Ekin-Su, the parents retire to the garden to reflect on their time as parents.

Davide muses: “I think when I will be dad I will be very caring about my kids.”

As Gemma and Luca discuss whether their child would play football, she says: “You can take them to training.”

Gemma later adds: “I always knew I wanted a lot of kids because I came from a big family… I wouldn’t go as far as broody but when the time’s right, the time’s right.”

The couple seem to have patched things up in tonight’s episode after rocky scenes on Tuesday night in the wake of the Mile High challenge.

Luca became irritated when Gemma licked Adam and Andrew during a saucy challenge and when she approached him he shoved her to the side and stopped her from kissing him.

Gemma, 19, spoke to Luca afterwards, saying: "You can sit here and say you're not in a mood, you are in a mood. When I came up to you in the challenge, you pushed me off."

Defending himself, Luca insisted it was "just banter" as she added: "It wasn't banter."

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
