Love Island's Andrew and Tasha become first official couple and are instantly at risk of being booted out of villa

Love was well and truly in the air of reality romance show Love Island on Thursday, July 14 as one of Villa's original couples declared their deep feelings for each other with the ultimate display of affection: a proposal - of sorts.

Indeed, after an adorable treasure hunt conducted by 23-year-old dancer Tasha Ghouri, it seems her and realtor Andrew Le Page became the show's first official couple when Tasha asked Andrew to be her boyfriend.

With help from her fellow islanders, Tasha from North Yorkshire revealed her special suprise for Andrew - who she coupled up with once again during the latest recoupling - to Paige Thorne and Gemma Owen in the girls' dressing room: “I’ve been planning on making Andrew my boyfriend... I’ve made up a whole speech.

"I wrote it on my phone today. I was doing it today and then I've got... my idea of a plan was to have my close people standing in important areas around the garden, and they'd be like: 'okay, go to where we had our first romantic kiss.... go to where we had our first argument... go to our favourite spot'.

"Then come back to the firepit and that's when I was going to do the speech.”

Reacting to Tasha's plan, Paige reveals that Andrew had also just told her he too wanted to make Tasha his girlfriend.

She was later seen leaving love letters - written on kitchen roll - dotted around the Villa in places that mean a lot to the couple for Andrew to find, while Tasha remained unseen and in hiding in the kitchen as the remaining Islanders watched on from the terrace in giddy anticipation.

As Andrew is directed outside by a note that leads him to the place they shared their first kiss, he says: "Alright, what's going on here? Upon reading the love notes and finally seeing his girl, Andrew joins Tasha who is seated at the firepit. She says to him: "I've got something to read to you."

During her 'proposal', Tasha, looking utterly smitten, says to Andrew: "My Love Island experience has been such a rollercoaster emotionally. Before I came in here, I had a goal. It's fair to say I have acheived that goal. To find the one who I can see a future with. In here we have gone through so much good and bad but everytime we went through the bad we always found our way back to each other.

"Being someone that's never had a long term relationship in here has taught me many lessons and every lesson has been a learning curve. It's made me grow as a person in here and sorry for putting you through so much emotionally, I know I can be a lot."

She went on to say: "We do have one messed up, complicated story but I love that. It is our story. You are so amazing, inside and out. Your smile lights up my day, the way you look at me and kiss me makes me feel like I'm the only girl in the world. I can't wait for you to meet my family and friends because they are going to love you. I am so lucky to have found a connection who I have a deep, strong connection with that is unbreakable. So Andrew Edward Le Page, will you be my boyfriend?"

Followed by a euphoric eruption from their friends in the villa, Andrew responded with: "Yeah, of course I f***ing will... As if you did all that, by the way."

Fans of the show took to Twitter to voice their emotion at this development for the couple - which had some mixed reactions from viewers.

One user, @Teala10288577, said: "Now that Tasha & Andrew are boyfriend and girlfriend let’s send them home #loveisland", while DiiAmarachi said: "All the relationships that started out with treasure hunt in loveisland are over btw. But ofcourse good luck to Tasha and Andrew. #loveisland".

@sc0rpioriah said: "Andrew hooked up with girls in casa amor because he was "done with tasha".... where are the checks and balances?

@_Logiquee also commented:"This is an unpopular opinion, and i might be wrong, but I think Tasha and Andrew might outlast most of these other couples."

Meanwhile, it seems that another couple were ready to take the next step in their relationship. After such a successful and incredible first date, Luca Bish and Gemma Owen - daughter of footballing legend Michael - finally say three words that the fishmonger Luca has been itching to say for quite some time.

Speaking after the recoupling sitting on the terrace, Luca turns to Gemma and says: "After yesterday, today has been the best day in the villa and I wouldn't want it with anyone else. I can't help how I feel. And hopefully you feel the same."

He continued: "You know I've fallen for you and I am... I've brought you to where we had our first chat. It's got a bit better since then, but I've never been so sure in something... in saying something, because, I've not seen a future with someone like I have with you and... I think I'm in love with you. I am in love with you. I do love you."

Gemma replies, saying: "I love you too."

The show's latest recoupling in the Villa sees the following paired off together:

Adam and Paige

Andrew and Tasha

Billy and Danica

Dami and Indiyah

Luca and Gemma

Josh and Summer

Davide and Ekin-Su

Deji and Coco.

However, after the public vote revealed that Andrew and Tasha were in the bottom three of the public's favourite Islanders, meaning they are at risk of being dumped from the Island, their happiness seems to have been short-lived.

Love Island continues on Friday, July 15 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox
