Love Island's Amy Hart urges fan to get smear test following her own health scare

Love Island star Amy Hart has urged her female fans to book in for a smear test following a health scare.

The 28-year-old revealed the result of her own test was 'dodgy' and that she now has to undergo further procedures.

Reality star Amy took to Twitter to remind her followers to take the test.

"Just a random reminder to book any overdue smear tests please gals," she wrote.

"My follow up smear has come back dodgy so progressing to the next set of tests. Don’t leave it!"

The message has already been retweeted over 700 times, with fans quick to back up the star's advice.

One user replied: "I got mine and it came back that I had the HPV virus which can cause pre cancerous cells. Luckily I went back for another smear a year later and it's all cleared up and I’m all good. You’ve done the right thing and I'm sure all will be okay. So important to get checked. 100%"

Another replied: "Thank you for the reminder. I had dodgy results on a few tests so had a total hysterectomy to be sure. Note I had passed my child bearing years so the was no need to hang on to my bits and pieces! All the best for you."

A third added: "So so so important to keep going for regular smears, pre cancerous cells are common and treatable. It's not pleasant and can be nerve racking if it's your first time, nurses have seen everything you have to offer a million times over don't be embarrassed."

Earlier this month, Amy revealed her desire to ditch her reality TV career in favour of becoming a politician.

Lifting the lid on her career goals, Amy told The Sun: "I think I could be a relatable MP – something a lot of them are not. I think integrity and compassion is missing in politics and I can bring that.

"I have a nice life now, I earn good money. I don’t need to get into politics but I would love to."

She went on to reveal that she hopes to change other people's lives for the better if she were to move into politics.

"I would love to help people change their life and to make things better for people rather than doing it for what I could gain out of it. I think a lot of people do it for personal gain sadly," she said.

"I’d love to write a book about politics for the Love Island generation. A lot of people think that politics doesn’t concern their lives so making it easier to digest is important."
