Love Island's Amy Hart reveals what happens when girls when get their period in the villa

Former Love Island contestant Amy Hart has revealed what happens when girls get their periods inside the villa. Amy, 30, shot to fame on the fifth season of the ITV2 reality show, gave fans an insight into what goes on behind the scenes during the show.

The former air hostess didn't hold back when telling fans about her time inside the villa. And when one curious follower asked her what happens when the girls get their period, Amy revealed she gets asked that question a lot.

Discussing her time on the reality show as she responded to fans questions, Amy said: "I’ve heard this so many times. I don’t really understand what you think I'm going to say, like 'we’re segregated in another room, only allowed in black bikinis'. We just get on with it, like you would do if you’re on holiday.”

She continued: “I personally ran my pill packs together because I didn't want to have a period while I was in there and the doctor was like, ‘Yeah that’s not going to work’ and I was like, ‘It will, it will’. And it did work… until it didn’t. But yeah, you just get on with it.”

Amy captioned the video: “I understand everyone is different and they’d make allowances I'm sure, I was just talking about my experience and meant we weren’t banished.”

This wasn't the only question Amy was asked, as fans were dying to know the ins and outs of the ITV show's strict alcohol rules. Former Islanders have revealed the show has tightened up its rules on booze in recent years, as many claimed they are only allowed one drink per night.

Amy explained: "It's one drink on a normal night and then two drinks if it's a long night. A lot of us didn't end up drinking because what's the point in having one glass?

"Some nights we were just like 'we want to get drunk' if it's been a stressful day or whatever. But when there were massive rows I always thought 'imagine that with a skinful of alcohol', so I actually didn't mind and, also, no hangovers, which was good."

When asked if other Islanders could give away their drinks to another contestant, Amy firmly said this was not allowed.

She stated: "No, and they tell you on the first day that if you do get caught giving your drink to anyone then everyone gets banned from drinking for five days, so you'll let everyone else down. Don't do it."

During her time on Love Island, Amy dramatically left the Villa following her failed relationship with Curtis Pritchard. The former cabin crew member is now expecting her first child with her boyfriend Sam Rason.

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
