Love Island reveals new dumping twist ahead of 'dramatic mass exit' and star's return

Love Island 2023 teased some big drama was on the way, as a dumping was confirmed following hints prior to the latest episode.

After host Maya Jama teased her big comeback to the villa, and reports of a mass dumping being on the cards, Tuesday's episode revealed all.

A clip at the end of the latest episode showed that the voting lines were once again open, meaning a dumping was on the way after all, ahead of the final next month.

Viewers were told they needed to vote for their favourite or the most compatible couples, and that those with the fewest votes would be at risk of being dumped.

It's not yet clear if couples or separate Islanders will be voted off, while in past series it's been the latter - meaning couples have been torn apart just before the end of the series.

It's also around this time of the series that Islanders visit the second villa for a VIP party, with plenty of drama often unfolding.

This party always ends with the host returning to drop a bombshell, before the results of the public vote are revealed.

Amid reports that multiple exits are about to take place, the party twist often sees more than one girl and more than one boy face being axed - so is this on the cards this series?

It tends to be the safe Islanders who have to decide who goes out of the girls and boys, while nothing has been confirmed.

One series saw a couple get the chance to stay in the villa, as long as they agreed to split up - so could this happen again?

Maya teased she'd be back in the South African villa very soon, as she posted photos from the airport lounge, and it looks like a mass dumping will be taking place ahead of the looming final of the ITV2 show.

"It’ll be the most dramatic moment yet when Maya walks in and reveals that several of the cast are heading home," a source told The Sun.

“It’s brutal as it’s less than two weeks from the final but everyone is in danger of getting dumped. There are some really tough decisions to be made."

The insider added: "If fans thought Casa Amor and Movie Night were must-watch episodes - this will be a whole new level of drama."

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
