A huge twist to the Love Island format will see viewers play cupid as they have been put in control of the first coupling of the series for the first time ever.
But with all decisions to be made through the UK based Love Island app, it seems Irish fans won’t be able to join in on the fun.
The official account for the show announced the news on Friday saying: “For the first time ever, you get to have your say on who couples up on Day 1!
“Head to the app to play matchmaker and pick which boy you think should couple up with each girl.”

Ahead of the opening show on Monday, voiceover man Iain Stirling took to ITV’s Lorraine show to explain the new twist, as he arrived in sunny Spain to kick off filming.
Speaking from the villa, he told fill-in host Christine Lampard: "I'm coming at you now with a big fat exclusive. We're mixing things up this year I can tell you.
"This year, for the first year ever, we want you guys at home to play cupid. You will have your say on which boy couples up with which girl.
"All you have to do is go to the Love Island app right now. The poll is live right now and will close again tomorrow at 9am."
He added: "It's a fantastic poll where you get to decide who's getting coupled up with who.
"You get to look at all the Islanders, get a vibe, see who you think suits to who - or maybe who doesn't suit to who.
"Then put them together and then we can watch the fireworks fly."
Asked whether he thinks this will be the sexiest year yet, the Scottish comedian went on: “Oh it's sexy. Look at me, I've got a white shirt on. Even I'm sexy this year. It's unbelievable, "
The 2022 line-up was confirmed earlier this week with 11 new singletons looking for love this summer.
It includes Dubliner Dami Hope, former England striker Michael Owen's daughter Gemma and dancer Tasha Ghouri, who is the show's first deaf contestant.
However it seems Italian contestant Davide Sanclimenti may arrive as a bombshell on Monday night, as he is not included in the new poll for the first coupling session.
The announcement said: “Davide is not included in the polls - watch the first show on Monday 6th June at 9pm on ITV2 to find out more.”
The polls will close at 9am Saturday.
Irish Mirror have reached out to Virgin Media Television for comment.
Love Island airs exclusively on Virgin Media Two Monday June 6 at 9pm.
