Love Island viewers blast 'brutal' reunion special after 'cringe' segments

Love Island viewers were left less than impressed about the reunion episode which aired on Sunday night.

We're less than a week out from seeing Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti crowned as the champions of the Virgin Media dating show.

Those two were back on Sunday, along with fellow finalists Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, Andrew le Page and Tasha Ghouri and a whole host of other guests.

But people did not seem pleased with what they saw, taking to social media to register their disappointment with the lack of drama.

Irish superfan and host of My Pod on Paper Orlaith Condon wrote: "With every segment, this just gets worse! Next year, just round up all the #LoveIsland pundits and let us have a word with the islanders

Fellow fan and comedian Michael Fry agreed, writing: "Its my own fault for choosing to watch this but my god this is boring. Not a shred of craic to be had"

Other viewers also added their frustration, with one tweeting: "#loveislandreunion is crap. Asking Tasha and Andrew if they’ve had sex, Darren and the recorder… ready to turn off"

A second chimed in with: ""A reunion show should not be a place for people to promote music such as these DJs. Like that’s not what a reunion is about I don’t understand what is going on here."

While a third plead with producers: "this reunion is cringe af so far. we are adults, give us the drama."

Segments included a long interview with DJ Joel Corry, as well as a video of an impressionist mocking the islanders.

Meanwhile, Andrew and Tasha confirmed that they had been intimate - even though the estate agent was sure the iconic 'tittygate' with Coco wouldn't be shown on the cameras.

Tasha explained: "I think at the time, I was hurt, but I knew deep down I'd get over it."
