Love Island received over 200 Ofcom complaints in its first week.
The ITV2 show returned last week for its eighth series, and fans quickly took issue with the age gap between Gemma Owen and Davide Sanclimenti and rushed to the broadcasting regulator to complain.
Overall, the programme received 167 complaints for its episode of June 7 over the ages of the contestants on the show and this was the episode where we saw Gemma, 19, and Davide, 27, kiss.
The show also received a number of complaints - 93 in total - for its show on June 12, with most of these in relation to the ages of the contestants. Some of the complaints were also for other areas.
Love Island returned to our screens last week for its eighth series, and there was drama almost instantly.
Gemma - who is the daughter of football legend Michael Owen - joined the show as part of the main 10 contestants, but soon Davide - who hails from Italy but lives in Manchester - caused quite a stir when he entered as a bombshell.
He seemed keen to get to know all the girls - but it was Gemma who caught his eye and soon they shared a kiss.
Gemma was initially partnered up with Liam, but Davide chose to steal the international dressage rider from the Masters student, and Liam Llewellyn was left single. After two failed dates, he quit the show - deciding it wasn't for him.
Meanwhile, Davide then moved on to Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, whilst Gemma coupled up with Luca Bish.
However, there was drama during last night's episode, when Gemma accidentally called Luca by her ex Jacques O'Neill's name, with the rugby player having entered the villa just a day or so before.
There was an almighty row between them as Gemma fumed to Luca over his "overreaction" of what she had said. He was understandably not happy that she had used the wrong name - especially when he was being affectionate with her.
During a chat before they coupled up with different partners, Davide and Gemma decided to discuss their age gap.
"How are you feeling about the fact I'm much older than you?" Davide asked, "I mean you are not bothered by that?"
Gemma added: "It's not an issue for me at all. I feel like if it was, I wouldn't have wanted to get to know you in the first place. And as I've said, I've been speaking to guys and seeing guys who are much older than me.
"It's not something that I'm not used to or you're the only one or anything like that. It's very normal for me, so for me it's not an issue but I feel like for you, is it an issue?" to which Davide disagreed, saying he was fine with it.
