An ex- Love Island bombshell has revealed producers were forced to step in following extremely “uncomfortable” scenes amid this year’s Casa Amor fallout.
Speaking in an explosive new interview, Summer Botwe says she was left feeling 'upset and excluded' after the original girls returned to the main villa.
She joined Deji Adeniyi on a YouTube podcast by Murad Merali, spilling all about her time on the hit-ITV dating show which finishes next Monday.
Talking of her arrival into the villa from Casa Amor, Summer said that “the boys bonded quicker than the girls did” and that the vibe with the girls “was crazy”.
She said: “From the fire pit, after the Casa recoupling, I was getting devils across the pit before we all got up and separated.
“The OG girls were in one area and the three Casa girls were in one area and it was like that for two [or] three days, we were just completely separated.”
Summer entered the villa alongside Coco Lodge and Jazmine Nichol and, according to Summer, Ekin-Su was the first person to welcome them to the show.
Chyna Mills, Mollie Salmon and Cheyanne Kerr also entered as bombshells.
“Ekin kind of welcomed us a little bit, she came over and was like the first person to say hello along with Gemma.”
She says that the other original islander girls were “very standoffish” but puts it down to a theory that everyone was “dealing with a lot”.
“Everyone had so much going on, so everyone was just kind of p****d off basically, everyone was just fuming about everything.”
Summer explained that the next few days that followed were relatively quiet as the groups remained separate, that was before one night that all got too much.
Show bosses were reportedly forced to step in after the tension became unbearable for Summer.
“There was one night, this was the night that Dami decided to stick with Indiyah because he wants to get back with her.
“Me and him were still coupled up so we had to sleep in the same bed, so I said ‘cool, you don’t have to sleep outside, I’m not a horrible person, I’ll just turn my back and go to bed’.
“And then Gemma and Tasha were giving me funny looks across the room and I felt so uncomfortable, at this point I felt so uncomfortable.”
Pointing to Deji during the explosive interview, she said “you were in the lounge, away from everyone, but I was in the same bedroom as all the OGs.
“I got really upset about it and I left the bedroom, came back, and I was telling Dami that I feel really uncomfortable and I could see Indiyah giving me weird looks across the room.
“I spoke with producers and the next day they prompted the OG girls that we need to have a chat, like all the girls need to get stuff off their chest, we need to come together.
“The divide was that bad that producers did have to step in and sort it out because it was uncomfortable for all of us, I know Coco and Chyna felt the same.
“It was just like, we [the Casa Amor girls] felt like we only had each other. I just wanted to go to sleep and I could just see people screwing me across the bedroom.
“I was like ‘what did I do? I didn’t do anything, I didn’t choose to be here, Dami chose me’, of course I wanted to be there but it wasn’t my choice.
“If you should be screwing anyone it should be Dami, not me. It was a weird one, the divide was crazy at the beginning.”
