Love Island producers forced to change reunion questions after backlash

Love Island producers were forced to change their questions for the reunion after viewers were too provocative.

The Love Island 2022 reunion is just around the corner and will be the last time we see some of our favourite islanders. Every year the cast is invited back to spill the beans on all the behind-the-scenes secrets and their final thoughts on what really went down in the villa.

Using the Love Island Reddit account, producers asked users to send in their questions. Their post said: " Get your Love Island reunion questions in! Tomorrow, the cast of 2022 are getting back together for Love Island’s big reunion show, so no matter who your question is for, now’s the time to ask it!"

Despite their best attempts at a light-hearted reunion, viewers quickly turned the line of questioning to call out both the islanders and producers.

One user said: "Question for Gemma - do you think it was responsible, particularly from a psychological point of view, for the producers to bring in your ex-boyfriend to a high-pressure environment under the gaze of millions where you had no escape from him?"

Another comment added: "I’d love to know why Davide apologising to Ekin after movie night was never aired."

A third viewer said: "Can we request that you don’t give airtime to clout chasers lying about doing sexual things with islanders still in the villa who can’t defend themselves from the incessant story spinning? This is 2022."

A final comment added: "For Jacques: Are you close with the producers because how did a lot of your behaviour (according to the islanders) get edited out?"

Several hours later the Love Island account was forced to change its line of questioning. Penning another post, they gave examples of more positive, acceptable questions they wanted from fans. Their post said: "Later this week, the cast of 2022 are getting back together for Love Island’s big reunion show, do you have any fun, quirky questions that you'd always wanted to know? Like what do the islanders eat? Or can they text each other on their phones?"

The new post didn't go unnoticed by viewers who called out the show for trying to edit the public response. One comment said: "Dying that they had to give examples of acceptable questions, the previous post mustn’t have had any."

Another added: "LMFAO, they really want us to ask about FOOD."

A third comment said: "I think the problem with the other thread was that some questions were TOO genuine – there were a few asking Danica about the mental strain during her first two weeks."
