Love Island aired dramatic scenes from the famous villa in Majorca on Thursday, July 7. Viewers hunkered down in their millions to watch the highly-anticipated Casa Amor recoupling, which saw the original Islanders each make a big decision.
Prior to the instalment, ITV2 had teased the recoupling was the show's most "most dramatic ever" and it did not disappoint. Fans of the dating series watched as six of the contestants chose to ditch their partner and move on with a new bombshell. Since the show aired, Love Island has announced the episode secured its biggest overnight audience since the 2019 final, with a total of 3.9 million across all devices. It had a TV audience of 3.0m viewers and was up on the equivalent episode last year by a strong +0.8m TV viewers.

The show won its slot and was the most-watched programme of the day for 16-34s. It had 1.3m 16-34 TV viewers, making it the most-watched 16-34 programme on a digital channel so far this year.
The fallout from Casa Amor will continue on Friday, July 8. Scenes set to air this evening will see Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne call out Jacques O'Neill over his time in Casa Amor, while Andrew Le Page is set to cool things off with Coco Lodge, telling Dami Hope he still has feelings for Tasha Ghouri.
Elsewhere Dami and Indiyah Polack have it out over the brutal recoupling, which saw them both decide to twist and pair up with new bombshells.
