Love Island legend looks unrecognisable in throwback snap after drastic career change

Love Island legend Rykard Jenkins has left his Instagram followers stunned after he posted an unrecognisable throwback photo before the days of his fame and fortune.

Rykard, who appeared on the second series of the ITV2 dating show in 2016, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a photograph from his teenage years as he rocked an edgy hairstyle.

The reality TV star's long black locks stand out in the striking snap, and it sees the handsome star show off the famous smile which stole the hearts of thousands of Love Island viewers during the height of his fame back in 2016.

During an Instagram Q&A with his adoring Instagram followers, Rykard admitted that he doesn't ever miss his long locks as he currently rocks a buzz-cut hairdo.

After the curious Instagram user asked: 'Do you miss your short hair," the Love Island star lamented on 'carefree' times gone by.

"Not really," he replied. "But I do miss being so young and carefree."

Rykard's epic throwback snap comes after he confirmed earlier this year that he swapped fame for a very different career.

The 31-year-old reality star ditched the spotlight to become a lip filler and hair transplant expert.

It comes over six years after he first appeared on Love Island.

The former TV star trained as an aesthetics practitioner and last October, he opened up his very own clinic called the Rejuvenation Clinic in Kent.

Rykard, who can now carries out Botox and dermal filler treatments, previously admitted that he had always been incredibly intrigued about cosmetic procedures, and so, he decided to make a living out of it.

"I've always been interested in treatments ever since I've come out of Love Island," he told OK! magazine.

"I started to learn that appearance is a big part of your confidence and the way people interact with you. In 2019 I studied to become an aesthetic practitioner.

"I started learning things about facial muscles, anatomy and then that moved on to doing facials and from there I started learning about things like microneedling, microblading, and I was eventually able to move on to advanced aesthetics, like Botox and dermal fillers."

Rykard is most famous for dramatically quitting Love Island in series two to follow love interest Rachel Fenton out of the villa.
