Love Island 'in chaos' as dumping twist leaves stars 'in tears' as show favourites axed

Love Island has reportedly axed two more Islanders before the final in an emotional dumping on the ITV2 reality show.

Islanders are said to have broken down in tears after two popular cast members were sent packing in a surprise twist last night.

The latest episode of the show saw Love Island viewers given 15 minutes to vote to save their favourite couple, putting all the Islanders at risk of being axed from the South African villa.

The fresh dumping will come just days after two couples said goodbye to their fellow Love Island hopefuls.

The final dumping was said to have been 'absolutely heartbreaking' in the villa, with tears a plenty from co-stars staying in South Africa.

“It’s an unmissable episode as it was so emotional - when they’re this close to the final, it’s hard for islanders to go home," a source told The Sun.

“The two people who have been axed will be missed in the villa, a lot. It’s heart-wrenching for them to miss out on the final week like this but someone has to go home. Viewers have voted and the islanders were left to pack their bags and exit the villa.”

It comes after Olivia and Maxwell received the news that they were heading home on Tuesday's episode, but in a plot twist never before seen, the couple were then told that they would be choosing who follows them out the door.

The pair then had to choose between Claudia and Keanan, Rosie and Casey and Tanya and Shaq – all of whom also received the fewest amount of votes from the public – and they ultimately picked the first pair.

The four Islanders then appeared on the Sunday instalment of Love Island's spin-off Aftersun with host Maya, to reflect on their experiences in the villa.

Love Island viewers have got just weeks to find out this year's worthy winners, with the date of the final revealed last month.

While many of this year's contestants have had a tumultuous time in finding a lasting connection, their eyes will be firmly on the prize with the end now in plain sight.

The date for this year's series final has now been revealed as Monday March 13.

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
