Love Island hosting duties would be Emily Atack's 'dream gig'

Emily Atack is reportedly "flattered” by calls for her to replace Love Island host Laura Whitmore after she announced her departure from the ITV dating show last week.

Laura, 38, revealed she will not be returning to the villa after her three-year stint fronting the series after finding certain elements of the show “very difficult.” Celebrity Juice star Emily, 32, is now one of the frontrunners to take up hosting duties, alongside fellow TV stars Maya Jama and AJ Odudu.

Speaking to Closer magazine, a source said Emily is flattered by fans calling for her to host the next series, describing it as her "dream gig.” The source added: "She feels like she could really sympathise with and help the contestants as she struggled to find love herself.

“She's saying 'Watch this space'".

The former Inbetweeners actress has been linked romantically with several high-profile celebrities – including Harry Styles and Manchester City footballer Jack Grealish – which have come with their fair share of drama. Describing herself as a “hopeless romantic” she will reportedly use those experiences to her advantage if she joins the series.

Earlier this year, the “mischievous” actress revealed she has learnt to stay away from things which may not be good for her following the drama associated with the Jack Grealish saga - who was in a relationship at the time he was linked with Emily. Speaking to Notebook in May, she said: “With each year that passes I learn more resilience and gain more strength.

“I stay the same person deep down and I’ve known me for a very long time. But I’ve learned how to deal with other people around me and how to deal with the craziness of the industry I am in.

“I try and stay away from things that aren’t good for me. It’s hard when you are a little mischievous like me!”

Emily is now in a relationship with Big Brother star Liam McGough, 35, who appeared on the reality show in 2007. She was snapped sharing a kiss with the tree surgeon while on a date in London in July and they have since been spotted at Emily’s mum, singer and actress Kate Robbins’, show.

The couple made it Instagram official last week when Emily shared a photo of them sharing a boozy brunch together.
