Love Island gets All-Star spin-off series featuring UK, US and Australian stars

Love Island has landed an all-star spin-off series that will feature cast members from the UK, US and Australian shows.

The popular dating competition started in the UK but has since expanded around the world.

Love Island Games will be airing on Peacock in the autumn and will see stars from the three shows coming together for another shot at love.

The stars will be completing team and couples' challenges while getting to know each other and, hopefully, finding a connection.

It will air after the fifth season of Love Island USA later this year.

Love Island Games is produced by ITV Entertainment and is based on a format owned by Lifted Entertainment and GroupM Motion Entertainment and distributed by ITV Studios.

It comes after it was reported that ITV1 have been looking for contestants to take part in their new show, The Romance Retreat.

The series is a Love Island-style show made for single parents.

The network sent out an official call earlier this year, confirming it was on the lookout for "vibrant single parents across the UK who are in search of love".

The intriguing new series will be similar to Love Island as parents will be making their way to a lavish villa in order to find their perfect someone.

ITV said the series will require the participation of a parent and their adult child.

Fans have been asking for a more "natural" cast for quite some time.

Davina McCall also admitted she had been "begging" ITV's hierarchy to hire her to host such a show.

The former Big Brother presenter split with hubby Matthew Robertson in 2017 at the age of 50. Now 55, she is dating her hairdresser Michael Douglas and is hopeful she can help other older singletons find "the one".

Speaking on an edition of the Diary of a CEO podcast, she admitted she doesn't hold any embarrassment or shame in emailing a network's big boss about potential show ideas.

She told host Stephen Bartlett: "'I could fill a villa in Love Island with middle-aged people with the best back stories you have ever heard in your life.

"They've lived a life – they're widows, they're people who have been through horrific divorces. They are people who have split up with somebody and decided they want to try going out with somebody the same sex as them.

"They're like interesting people. I'd watch that show."
