Dami Hope went into the Love Island villa as a squeaky-clean microbiologist from Dublin.
Irish fans were rooting for him week after week as he was considered the agony aunt of the group and all-round chill guy. But things started to change when the 26-year-old entered Casa Amor.
Dami is starting to win over the viewers once again, after he told his partner Indiyah Polack that he loved her and asked her to be his girlfriend. Will this be enough for him to secure the £50,000 prize fund?

Let’s take a look at his Love Island journey:
First coupling
Dami first coupled up with Amber Beckford when he entered the villa. The pair had a romantic picnic date outside the villa and a game on the tennis courts - the first out of the villa date of the series.
During the date, Dami showed his competitive side, and says he doesn’t want to lose Amber. Amber playfully spoke of Dami’s competitive nature and said: “You hate losing dont you?”
He replied: “It’s a good thing though because then that means I wont lose you in this Villa, it’s a good thing.” The pair shared a passionate kiss on the court, which was their first kiss.
Amber then asked Dami, “What is your dream girl?” He responded: “She’d look like you, you'd need to have a twin in here for me to turn my head."
Head turned
Not too long after the date, Amber was voted off the island, and Dami found that he had more of a connection with Indiyah. The pair coupled up and are now in the final together. But it wasn’t an easy journey for the pair.
Casa Amor
We saw a new side to Dami when the girls left for Casa Amor. He shared a kiss with new girl Summer Botwe and got into a blazing row with Luca Bish over encouraging the other boys to cheat.
Dami and Summer spoke about their feelings and he admitted that Summer was his type of girl. He said: "Yeah, I wouldn't really be up on the terrace if you weren't my type." He brought her back to the villa and said “Summer isn’t over.”
This caused the microbiologist to reportedly lose 50,000 Instagram followers in one day, and was reflected in some of the comments under his posts. His family had to plead for protection of the star after the online abuse.
They wrote: “We understand that LI (Love Island) fans are very interested in the show but the hateful DMs/comments we’ve received over the last couple of days are so uncalled for. To protect the well-being of Dami’s family and close friends, we decided to turn them off.”
Return to Indiyah
The Dubliner soon realised that his connection with Indiyah was too strong and fought to win her back. Indiyah was left unsure about continuing things with him after learning he had kissed Summer several times, while she remained respectful to their relationship throughout their time apart. But they worked things out in the end.
Beef with Tasha
Dami and Luca both chose to pie Tasha during the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge, leaving viewers uncomfortable. The microbiologist told her: “The reason why I decided to pie you, I feel like you usually get away with a lot of stuff, but this pie, you weren’t going to get away with.”
Dami did not seem remorseful and even laughed afterwards and stressed that it was “just a game”. He later apologised and things have been good ever since, he said: “I don’t want you to think I don’t care about you. I don’t want it to come off like I’m against you.”
Meet the parents
The pair reconciled and spoke about meeting each other's parents. He asked Indiyah: “Is your mum going to like me or hate me now?" Indiyah replied: It’s definitely going to play on her mind. My sister absolutely is going to grill you for it.”
Officially boyfriend and girlfriend
Dami and Indiyah finally made their romance official after weeks of flirtation in the Majorcan villa last Friday after a romantic night in the hideaway.
Indiyah told Dami: "You’re now actually my boyfriend." Dami agreed and the couple later told the other Islanders their news. When chatting to the boys outside, Dami said of his night: "Thank you for giving me that opportunity.”
Indiyah praised him for being "kind and caring”. She continued: "He makes me feel like a little princess and I'm glad that he's mine."
