Love Island fans 'switch off' as drama erupts seconds into ITV show

Fans of Love Island 'switched off' minutes into Friday's show.

As the ITV2 dating show launched into a preview of what to expect on tonight's episode, it showed Ron being a bit of a player. He was telling Lana and Ellie completely different things, trying his luck with both girls - and fans were sick of it.

On Twitter, many fans complained and said they "didn't want to watch". Others were delighted it would be a "juicy" episode.

One user said: "I’m so over this love island already, saw the preview for tonight’s and I ain’t even bothering watching it #Loveisland." Someone else said: "Get him off my screen or I'm switching off. #Loveisland."

But some viewers loved it and couldn't wait to see it all unfold. Jason said: "It’s already looking tasty from the preview #loveisland". Megan said: "Zara and Olivia already at each other in the preview, we're not even 5 seconds in #loveisland."

In the actual episode, Ron had coupled up with new bombshell Ellie leading to him and Lana discussing where it leaves their budding romance. Ron said to Lana: “I want to be respectful, but I also want to be selfish.”

Seeking more clarification Lana asked Ron: “What do you want to do?” Ron said: “Carry on with us… I don’t think she has a chance of swaying me.”

He added: “I think I’m gonna do something mad and ‘dead it’ tonight. I just want to, I feel like we are too good. When I spend time with you there’s no way she’s ever going to touch this.”

The episode was so juicy the show required extra time to fit in all the drama. Instead of the normal one-hour format, the ITV programme was on for an extra 20 minutes.
