Love Island returned to our television screens on Wednesday and there were five new arrivals - much to the villa's surprise. It was the return of the baby challenge, which meant the couples each had a doll to look after.
And, as in previous years, it was an episode that didn't fail to amuse. Lana, Ron, Jessie, Will, Samie, Tom, Sanam, Kai, Tanya and Shaq were all awoken by the sounds of screaming and cries from the plastic babies in cots down the stairs.
They jumped up and rushed to collect their fake child and got them dressed ahead of a day by the pool. As the contestants appeared to be coping not too badly with parenthood, Ron received telling the lads that they had a day away from the villa.
Clearly excited about getting away from the carnage, the mood was quickly changed when they got another text which said the babies were going along with them. While playing with their tots on the slides and merry-go-round, the boys discussed fatherhood.
Shaq asked Kai: "What type of dad do you think you will be?” Kai replied: “I’m the most laid-back, chilled individual going, Bruno will have a field day with me, Sanam will be the strict one.”
Talk soon turns to the future, as Shaq then asks: “Can you see yourself and Sanam having kids one day maybe?” Kai replies: “If things keep going how they are then, without a doubt, I could see us having kids. Bruno is lucky to have a mum like her; she's beautiful, intelligent, caring.”
Meanwhile, Will sang a nursery rhyme to baby Rufus and as the boys’ day out drew to an end they reflected on how they’ve adapted to being parents. Ron asked Shaq: “Do you want to be a parent?” Shaq answered: “Yeah, me and Tanya have spoken about it, in the future; she wants two, I want three.” Meanwhile, Tom said he wanted kids “100 per cent”.
But viewers watching at home were left less than impressed, with some even being forced to switch off because the crying babies got a bit too much them, with one person taking to Twitter saying: "The babies crying is so f****** annoying #loveisland".
Another added: "Get they dolls to f*** - the most annoying episode EVER!!!! #loveisland". A third wrote: "Switching aff #loveisland I can't stand they b****** wains screaming".
While a fourth commented: "I've just put my baby to bed who has been screaming all day. I can't be a**** listening to more screaming on my tv #loveisland". Another said: "Too much #loveisland please don't ever bring this challenge back. And remind me never to have a baby."
Once the islanders were all back together, it was revealed that Samie and Tom were the winners of Baby Day.
Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITX on Thursday at 9pm.
