Love Island fans 'shouting' at Gemma Owen over 'walking red flag'

Love Island fans found themselves shouting at their television screens on Friday night as Davide Sanclimenti exposed himself as a "hypocrite".

Michael Owen's daughter was initially paired with Liam Llelwyn on season eight of the popular dating programme. However, the show was rocked by drama when she recoupled with Davide.

The decision was hit by controversy as fans criticised the eight year age gap between Davide, 27, and Gemma, 19. And things have not got off to the best start for the new pair.

Thursday's episode saw Luca getting closer to Gemma, and now Davide has found out he is not happy. Speaking to Gemma tonight, he said: "I'm not p***ed off that you want to get to know somebody else, I don't own you, but I would have liked him to come and tell me first".

Gemma replied he didn't tell her he was going to be hanging out in the gym with Ekin-Su, and Davide mumbled something about "everybody knowing" they were going to the gym together.

Later, viewers saw Davide pull Luca to one side as he told him he wasn't happy with how things had happened. Davide said: "I would appreciate if you asked me first". Luca explained he had had one conversation with Gemma, adding: "It's not like we're engaged now".

Many Love Island fans thought Davide had no right to act how he did. Taking to Twitter, Katie said: "So Davide can talk to Ekin-Su but Gemma can't chat to Luca? Walking red flag".

Vikkie Middleton said: "The double standards are strong with Davide". LydiaWham said: "Shouting at my tele for Gemma to tell him to leg it".
