A Love Island fan from Hull in the UK was shocked to see Jacques O'Neill on the same flight home from Spain – because he was still to catch up with the latest episode and did not realise the contestant had left the hit ITV2 show.
Rugby league star Jacques quit the show last week after his family earlier revealed he had struggled with his emotions, following heated scenes in the villa. His ex Gemma Owen, the international dressage rider and daughter of the former England footballer Michael Owen, remains a contestant on Love Island.
The Hull man was queuing for his flight back from Palma to Leeds-Bradford Airport when he realised he was on the same plane as Jacques. And he praised the star for stopping to take selfies with fans before boarding the flight.

"I was shocked seeing him as I didn’t catch up on the episodes due to been on holiday but then I saw him at the airport in Palma Nova," the Hull man said. "It was a complete shock to everyone there, the whole airport couldn’t believe it."
He added. "What I thought was most touching is that he took time to get pictures with people after what he explained to the viewers on Tuesday night. This completely changed the view of what others thought of Jacques."
Earlier today, it was confirmed that Jacques had dropped in on training at his former club Castleford Tigers yesterday (Wednesday). While the club have first dibs on resigning him, should he wish to resume his playing career, head coach Lee Radford said no discussions had been held. The 23-year-old has also recently signed a modelling contract with FOMO models.
During the latest series of ITV's Love Island, Jacques paired up with Welsh beauty Paige Thorne. In the Casa Amor, Jacques fell to temptation and was disloyal to Paige when he tested his "connection" and kissed and shared a bed with fellow Yorkshire contestant Cheyanne.
Despite straying with Cheyanne, Jacques appears to still long for Paige. On Tuesday's episode, he said he'd be ready to "pick her up from the airport" when she eventually leaves the villa.
