Love Island fans were 'not convinced' by Tyrique's sweet words as he took Ella out on their very first date after weeks of being indecisive.
The 24-year-old spent weeks giving her mixed signals about where their pairing was headed, flirting with new girl Leah and causing Ella to have several heated chats with him.
His head was even turned when Kady made a comeback to the villa, and he admitted to being interested in her.
When Ella had enough, she spoke to him to ask where their relationship has been heading, with the semi-professional footballer dropping a clanger.
He told Ella he “misses the game” of being single, as it’s all he knows, leaving her looking shocked and hurt.
And now, the two were given the opportunity to have one-on-one time on their very first date.
Receiving a text, Ella excitedly read: "Ella, it’s time for you and Tyrique to head out on your first date #GoldenHour #ALengTimeComing"
Tyrique and Ella were whisked away to a gorgeous rooftop location where they discussed their romance.
He got her hopes up by telling her that his friends and family would love her and asked her if she would ever consider moving down south.
As the conversation continued, Ella said: “I can see you have feelings for me…the fact that I can see you really trying means a lot.”
Tyrique added: “I've had feelings in the past…but you’re the person that’s made me realise I can have strong feelings. I didn’t think I was capable, that’s why I’ll always have love and respect for you.”
He ended the date by revealing he's decided to 'close' himself off other women and be serious with her.
"I'm 100% to fully close myself off with you," he said.
Fans were unimpressed by Tyrique's sweet words as they rushed to social media to slam the semi-professional footballer for his past actions.
One user said: "Ty is gonna move mad in casa amor. I'm not convinced lol," while another posted: "wasn’t he open 10 minutes ago??"
One fan added: "closed off RIGHT before casa amor? ella shine your eyes!!" and another commented: "Only Ty can say I love you and I’ll leave you in the same sentence."
