Love Island fans in hysterics as they spot Iain Stirling's jibe about Danica

Love Island fans were amused on Monday, believing voiceover Iain Stirling had seen some of their recent tweets about one contestant.

Danica Taylor hasn't had the smoothest of journeys on the show, with things not working out for her and several male Islanders time and time again.

She's now hoping for some luck with new boy Jamie Allen, with them both agreeing they have a connection.

But Danica wanted to grill footballer Jamie about his past, as she discussed stereotypes regarding football players.

As the segment began, viewers were quick to notice narrator Iain seemingly mocking Danica with a quip about an "interview".

Viewers have been making jokes about the Islander for weeks, stating that she sounds like she's "interviewing" someone every time she pulls a boy for a chat.

There have been tweets and memes about the Islander's "interview technique" since she joined the villa, and now it seems Iain has caught on.

He said on Monday night: "Jamie Allen, boyfriend material interview. Present in the room are Danica Taylor and Jamie Allen.

"Interview commencing 24th of July 2022 at 1300 hours."

As the moment aired, amused viewers raced to Twitter to discuss the moment, and to see if others had noticed it.

One viewer said: "Did Iain just joke about Danica’s interview style of chatting up looool."

Another fan tweeted: "IAN MADE A DANICA INTERVIEW JOKE," as a third added: "Not Ian Stirling catching onto Danicas interview skills."

A fourth viewer commented: "IAIN TAKING THE P*** OUT OF DANICA'S CHAT SKILLS," as another said: "Not iain making a danica interviewer reference."

It comes as fans hit out at the show after some of the usual or past challenges appeared to be missed from the current series.

While there's still a week to go, fans feared that certain challenges had not made the cut - calling the tasks that did feature "boring".

Love Island producers have now reportedly confirmed that the fan favourite Twitter challenge in particular will not be returning to the ITV2 dating show this year, despite an apparent hint over the weekend.

The Online Buzz Twitter challenge sees the Islanders given tweets from ITV2 viewers and asks them to guess the names.

The challenge has previously created explosive scenes in the villa as the Love Island contestants learn the truth behind certain situations.

Over the weekend Love Island fans believed they had spotted a clue the challenge could soon be returning to screens, when the show’s official Twitter account added a disclaimer to its bio.

However, Love Island will reportedly not feature the popular challenge in the eight series, despite demand from eager fans of the show.

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
