The first recoupling of Love Island in the villa is imminent and it's set to cause a shock amongst islanders.
Whilst relaxing by the pool, Mitchel receives a text which reads: "Islanders, tonight there will be a recoupling. The girls will each choose which boy they want to recouple with. The boy not picked to be in a couple will be dumped from the island immediately. #LeaveItToTheLadies #BroBye."
This evening, all Islanders will all be asked to stand around the firepit for the first recoupling of the series.
With the decision in the girls’ hands, who will be safe and who will be leaving the villa?
In Friday night’s episode, Sammy decides to come clean to Mitchel on how he’s feeling after his dates with Ella, Molly and Jess.
He says: "I can’t lie, Molly was my favourite. I want to get to know her. At the end of the day, she said to me she was open to getting to know other people as well."
Mitchel says: "Do your thing, get to know the girls. Let the best man win."
Upon hearing Molly is keen to get to know other people, Mitchel pulls her for a chat later that night. He says: "I don’t want to give you the energy I think you deserve, when you’re not going to give me any reciprocation back. I’d rather let you do your thing."
He adds: "No one compares to you right now. I’m still gonna adore you, I still think you’re great…I don’t wanna cuddle and all that stuff anymore, I wanna sit back and I want you to explore your options."
But with Mitchel’s feelings made clear, where will this leave him and Molly?
Later, Molly sits down with Sammy to reveal something that’s been on her mind. She says: "You either remind me of someone or I've met you and I don’t know how."
Sammy responds: "You’ve definitely been thinking about this all night! I hope it’s a good thing…"
Molly confirms: "It is a good thing because I feel like I know you."
Sammy jokes: "Maybe we met in a past life, when you were a seagull, and I was a chip!"
Later that evening, Mehdi lays on the charm with Whitney at the firepit. He says: "You are a beautiful girl. I like your personality and sense of humour."
Mehdi adds: "Since you’ve arrived, you’re someone I can relate to, you make me feel comfortable."
Whitney responds: "You’ve surprised me."
Later in the Beach Hut she says of Mehdi: "He is literally my vibe, Mehdi is definitely one of my top boys, he’s giving."
The next morning Whitney sits down with George in the den.
She tells him: "You’re a dark horse, you’ve got layers to you."
George agrees: "I’m like a lasagna, I’m just dropping lasagna game. You’ve got the cheeky side, you’ve got the funny side, and more of a sensitive and a deeper side."
George admits in the Beach Hut: "The energy that she gives isn’t like any other energy of the current girls in here, and I love that."
As she continues to get to know both Mehdi and George, who will Whitney turn her attention to?
Bookies are backing Dubliner Catherine and Zachariah 8/1 to win the series.
The real estate agent and fitness hunk are amongst the top couples who might go the distance on the show.
Sam Boswell, spokesperson for BetVictor, shares his insight on where the money has been going in the first week.
"Mitchel and Molly come in as our favourites to win at 11/4. The public voted for them to be coupled up in the first episode and have been fairly strong since, although it looks like they are about to hit a bump in the road! Mitchel has already said he’s closed off to anyone else, but will Molly’s head get turned?
"Tyrique and Ella are just behind Mitchel and Molly, coming in at 3/1. Ella confessed that they had met on a night out prior to the villa, so it might be love at second sight for them!
"Sammy entered the villa last night and took three girls on a date, but everyone was rooting for Jess as she’s had some bad luck since the first day. As a couple, they come in at 8/1 to win. But will they recouple together tonight?
"Zachariah & Catherine and Mehdi & Whitney also come in at 8/1.
"Other couples in the market are George & Jess at 25/1 and Mehdi & Ruchee at 25/1."
