Love Island fans fume at ITV2 show as contestants 'bully' one star in 'awful' scenes

Love Island fans have slammed the behaviour of the ITV2 contestants after one Islander seemed to be singled out in the latest villa challenge.

The couples received a text inviting them to play Knowing Me, Knowing You, to find out how well they all really know their other halves.

As the only Islander not in a couple, Shaq was the host at the fire pit while Martin and Tanya were forced to work together hot on the heels of a row the previous night.

When the girls were asked to name their partner's favourite sex position, Shaq jokingly said to Martin and Tanya: “If you know this….”

When Shaq then asked the girls which Islander their partner thinks is least genuine in the villa, Martin’s name was repeatedly cropping up.

Many of the boys fell back on the excuse that they have known him the shortest amount of time, despite the fact that fellow Casa Amor bombshell Maxwell has been in the main villa the same length of time.

Love Island viewers were left put off by the scenes in the villa, with many comparing it to a similar game earlier in the series, which saw many Islanders gang up on dumped contestant Zara and prompted Ofcom complaints.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “They’re treating Martin the same way they treated Zara in a similar game hmm I wonder why.”

A second added: “Martin has by far had the worst experience coming in from Casa Amor. Genuinely feel SO BAD for him.”

“We shouldn’t be surprised they’re bullying Martin bcos they literally bullied Zara Lackenby-Brown a few weeks ago,” another tweeted as a fellow viewer chimed: “Poor martin, why’s everyone ganging up on him? Exact same as when Zara was in the villa.”

A fellow fan wrote: “Wait, don’t the boys know Martin the same amount of time they have known maxwell??? Why was Martin the single target?????” as another added: “The way the villa is treating Martin is awful,” as one chimed: “Hmm seems like they’re bullying Martin.”

It comes after Love Island was hit with a number of Ofcom complaints as viewers complained about alleged bullying and discriminatory behaviour towards contestant Zara on the show.

Ofcom confirmed they received 197 complaints from ITV2 viewers at home after Islanders turned on Zara in scenes in the South African villa – ahead of her dumping from the show.

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
