Love Island star Luca Bish was spotted almost dropping the L-bomb to Gemma Owen on Friday 8 July's show.
The 23-year-old fishmonger was delighted to be reunited with Michael Owen's daughter after the pair were torn apart for the Casa Amor twist.
A dramatic recoupling saw Luca and dressage rider Gemma come back stronger than ever – unlike the rest of the couples who have split following the fallout of Casa Amor.
And following the eventful evening, the Islanders were seen going to bed with Luca excitedly snuggling up with Gemma, 19.
While the pair lay in bed, after sharing a sweet kiss together, Luca was seen stuttering as he told Gemma: "It's just so tempting to say... Like..."
Luca appeared to stumble over his words, before he said: "I really like you".
The romantic scene then switched to the other sleeping Islanders before the camera then switches back to a cuddling Luca and Gemma.
But, viewers of the hit ITV2 dating show claim that Luca meant to confess his love for Gemma.
One wrote: "Aaaaaah Luca we know you meant love #loveisland".
Another added: "luca chickening out of saying i love u #LoveIsland".
"Or just say “I love you” Luca #LoveIsland," a third suggested.
Meanwhile, a fourth added: "Luca wants to say I love you but he knows Gemma won’t say it back #loveisland."
Following the fallout of Casa Amor which saw the rest of the Islanders on the rocks, Luca and Gemma are being backed to win the series by fans.
According to William Hill, the couple have odds of 13-8 to bag the £50k joint prize and fans on Twitter seem to agree.
One wrote: "Honestly f**k it, hope gemma and luca wins #LoveIsland".
Another added: "Luca and Gemma genuinely deserve to win #loveisland" as a third said: "we know luca and gemma are prob gonna win but who’s even gonna be second and third? the state of these couples rn".
It comes amid reports that Gemma's dad Michael Owen is set to make an entrance into the villa.
The 42-year-old England legend's schedule is said to be free around the time the Meet The Parents episode is set to be filmed.
Michael's employer BT Sport reportedly said the last week in July, when the episode is shot, is free for footie fixtures so the footie star will not be needed.
A source has told The Sun: "The end of July looks to be a golden opportunity for Michael to see Gemma.
"He’s notoriously private and anything could change between now and finals week but, all things considered, the odds on him taking part are better than ever."
