Love Island fans call out 'producer meddling' as Zara creates fresh love triangle

Love Island’s Zara Lackenby-Brown has seen her head start to turn in the latest episode of the ITV2 reality dating show, leaving fans suspicious.

The ITV2 reality dating show returned with another explosive episode this week as the winter series gets well underway in sunny South Africa.

The ITV2 show has seen multiple feuds erupt in the past days as the Islanders mark a week since they walked into the villa – including one between Zara and Olivia over Tom.

However, the spat could soon be settled now after Zara headed over to Shaq on Tuesday night’s episode.

Zara said to her fellow Islander: “I’ll be real with you, Tom is obviously ticking pretty much every box for me but it’s early still, I haven’t even spoken to you properly, it would be nice to explore.”

The conversation was then briefly interrupted as Tanya, who is coupled up with Shaq, approached them to give Shaq a cup of tea.

However, they soon continued as Shaq said: “On the outside you would be someone that I would go for so I do want to explore that to see the vibes.”

Shaq and Zara talked about both being from London as he said: “You’re from London too, you just get it.”

Zara added: “Same with you, we are from the same area, that’s the thing, that would just work instantly.”

Keen to make his intentions clear, Shaq was honest with Tanya about how he plans to get to know Zara.

Yet the hints at a fresh love triangle has left fans suspicious, with many questioning whether it is a result of producer involvement.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Shaq and Zara’s convo is defo the producers work. This is random."

A second echoed: "I just know the producers were in Zara’s ear regarding talking to Shaq."

A third added: "I just know the producers told Zara and Shaq to talk. Since she’s clearly the only one that makes the show entertaining."

"Nah the producers are meddling too much! Zara and Shaq? I’m calling bull," another penned.

This comes after ring girl and actress Olivia and model Zara have failed to see eye to eye as of late after a game of beer pong turned into chaos and the situation grew increasingly tense on Monday evening’s episode.

Love Island fans have accused Olivia and Zara of creating fake drama amid their repeated rows, which seemingly erupted out of nowhere.

The pair knew each other before going into the villa, commenting on one another's Instagram posts, but now fans of the ITV2 show are convinced that they are deliberately creating drama in a bid to get more screen time.

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Love Island: Aftersun airs following Sunday nights episode, hosted by Maya Jama.
