Love Island has dumped its first Islander of the 2023 series - with George Fensom heading home.
The villa was left reeling when they found out someone would be heading back to the UK after just a few days in the villa. The twist came after a series of bombshells including the latest arrival, Sammy, stepped into the villa.
With Sammy there, it meant that there were more boys than girls which meant one guy was at risk of heading home from the show just days into the new series and without a real chance of finding love.
The Islanders were called to the firepit where the women had their say on who they wanted to couple up with. There were some shock recouplings, leaving one Islander vulnerable and heading back to the UK.
Ella chose Tyrique whilst Ruchee coupled up with Andre. Catherine decided to pick Zach, and Molly left everyone guessing before picking Mitchel. Jess chose new boy Sammy, whilst Whitney chose Medhi.
Speaking after his exit, George said: "I’ve had an absolute blast, dropping loose game and making everyone laugh. The experiences I’ve had, the people I’ve met and the lifelong friendships that I’ve formed have made my Villa experience very worthwhile. I wish everyone in there the best Villa experience and I can’t wait to see them all on the outside."
Maya Jama is hosting the show, having taken over from Laura Whitmore before the previous series.
Speaking about her time on the show so far, she said: "I love being able to have a bit more of a personal relationship with the Islanders and being able to see all the behind-the-scenes of what goes into making the show.
"It’s a nice feeling to be involved in a show that I’ve loved and been a fan of for so long. It feels so exciting, I was full of nerves for my first series because I was wondering what it would be like. Now, I know I feel really ready and excited, I just can't wait to get started! Now there’s a bit more of an expectation, I just want to make sure that I live up to that expectation again."
She quipped: "The pressure is on for my stylist because the dresses did very well last series!"
So far this series, things had been seemingly going well for Molly and Mitchel but they hit the rocks when the gas engineer admitted he had been closed off to anyone else, something Molly didn't agree with so early into the series.
Elsewhere, Jess seems to be angering model Ella because of her partner Tyrique's closeness to him. She seems concerned that things might blossom between the pair, despite him ruling it out and saying she was just a friend.
