Love Island couples face their first recoupling after Liam Llewellyn's exit

The Love Island couples have faced their first recoupling of the series. The group, who recently had to say goodbye to one of their own, were made to decide whether they wanted to stick with the partners they had been sharing a bed with.

Friday's episode was filled with dramatic moments with islanders Gemma, Davide, Luca, Paige and Liam at the forefront of the action. Following a last ad-break in the hour-long ITV2 dating show, it was time for the islanders to decide who they wanted to be coupled up with.

Here goes: Dami and Amber stayed together following the recoupling. He described how he was "excited to see what happens next" as he gets to know her. In the same vein, Andrew chose to recouple with Tasha following "a series of challenges." Tasha called him "so sweet" for making the choice.

Ikenna said, "from the moment [he] walked in, this girl caught [his] attention" as he summed up why he wanted to recouple with Indiyah. Luca was next and clearly looked terrified by the outcome of his decision. He said that the girl he had chosen was a "right sort." The identity of that girl was Gemma - someone who has already had two partners during her time in the villa.

Luca's choice directly impacted Davide, who has been growing closer to Eken-Su and therefore, it was no shock that the Italian chose to partner with her. Sunday night's episode is set to show how their romance will develop.

Afia and Paige both receive texts saying that they are "now single" but due to the fact that Liam had left earlier in the episode, they have kept their places in the villa and are safe for now.

Love Island continues on Sunday, June 12 on ITV at 9pm
