Love Island bombshells split up two couples in brutal recoupling as two girls face axe

Love Island viewers saw carnage on Tuesday night, as a brutal recoupling twist tore couples apart and left two Islanders at risk of being dumped from the show.

After the arrival of bombshells Leah and Charlotte the night before, it was time for a shock recoupling that the Islanders were not expecting so soon.

On Tuesday, fans saw the moment all Islanders were gathered around the fire pit after being told what was on the cards.

It was announced the girls were the vulnerable group, with eight girls in total and just six boys - with the boys told to pick which girl they wanted to pair up with.

But there was a twist, as new girls Leah and Charlotte were informed they could pick first as they were automatically safe.

They got to pick a boy each before the boys then picked from the rest of the girls - a move that left the contestants panicked.

In a bold move after a flirty chat earlier in the evening, which caused tension in the villa, Leah picked Tyrique who was paired up with Ella.

Charlotte was up next, and she chose to pair up with Zachariah which wasn't exactly bad news for his partner Catherine, as the pair had already cooled things.

But it did spell trouble for Molly, after she had just shared a steamy kiss with Zach following drama with Mitchel.

The bombshells caused maximum drama for sure with their choices, and it's safe to say the Islanders were reeling.

From there, André picked Catherine - leaving Ruchee single - and Mehdi chose Whitney.

Next up, Sammy saved Jess and Mitchel chose Molly despite her kissing another man - leaving Ruchee and Ella both single and at risk of being dumped.

The episode ended on a cliffhanger, so viewers will have to tune in on Wednesday night to find out who goes as it's up to the Islanders to decide.

It had been teased that a "favourite" would leave the show, while it's now been confirmed two original girls face the chop.

"Viewers are in for an absolute treat when one of the villa's stars is dumped," a TV insider revealed before the episode.

"Bosses are determined to keep the drama coming and this is a departure none of them saw coming," they added to The Sun.

The islander in question has already left the villa, with the scenes airing on Wednesday.

On Monday night, Love Island viewers were on the edge of their seats as the show welcomed two new bombshells - social media marketer Leah and dental nurse Charlotte - who were both hoping to woo the boys away from their current partners.

Leah chose three guys to date whilst Charlotte also picked three and both seemed to have the same type in men as they picked Molly's current love interest Zachariah and her former love interest Mitchell to cook for them.

Molly seemed unimpressed when Leah walked into the villa as she watched from the terrace, before remarking that they were friends and knew each other outside the villa. However, the look on her face made it seem as though were not on the best of terms.

Speaking ahead of her arrival in the villa, Leah said: "I’ve realised through past experiences exactly what I want in life when it comes to love. I’m ready to find it now and I’m not going to wait around. I've figured out what it is that I look for in a person, which means my bar is set really high.

"I would say I honestly have so much love to give and being in love is the best thing you can ever experience. I’m ready for everything that comes with it and the hardships you have to go through in order to make that commitment and find the one."

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
