Love Island 2023 start date confirmed – and it's just DAYS away

ITV bosses have revealed the start date for the upcoming series of Love Island.

While the ninth series of the ITV show was filmed in South Africa, top dogs at ITV confirmed that the show will be returning to Majorca for its regular format.

This summer, singletons will jet to the Spanish island with the hopes of finding their one true love, with viewers getting a first look on Monday, June 5.

A whole crowd of singletons will battle it out to win the heart of another Islander, as well as the British public who have the final say on who wins.

Every day, those hoping to find love will have to showcase their best flirting skills in and around the villa in a bid to find themselves not being "dumped" from the island.

But things won't be that easy for them as ITV will throw in several twists and turns in the form of new bombshell arrivals, Casa Amor and dramatic challenges.

Previously, Islanders have been left stunned after bosses made the decision to play conversations aloud as well as sharing what the public thinks of the lineup.

Following on from last year, those behind the scenes have made the decision to prevent Islander's loved ones from checking the contestant's social media due to online trolling.

As well as the main show returning, Love Island: Aftersun with Maya Jama will be returning to ITV2, live from London, featuring exclusive chats with evictees as well as celebrity guests.

Meanwhile, former Islander Indiyah Polak and Love Island enthusiast Sam Thompson will see the return of their podcast, Love Island: The Morning After.

In recent years, the likes of Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt Molly-Mae Hague, Alex and Olivia Bowen and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti have walked away from the famous villa and found they are happily ever after.

But it's not always been plain sailing as several Islanders who appeared to be in happy relationships have gone on to call it quits.

Shortly after leaving the villa, winners Amber Rose Gill and Irish rugby ace Greg O'Shea called it a day on their romance.

Last year, the Mirror revealed how Luca Bish had been left blindsided by his ex-girlfriend, Gemma Owen, announcing they had decided to separate without consulting him first.

LOVE ISLAND RETURNS ON MONDAY 5TH JUNE AT 9PM ON ITV2 AND ITVX
