Love Island 2023: First islander left at risk of being dumped after bombshell

Love Island contestant Will Young has become the first Islander to be left single, after Tom Clare chose his partner Olivia Hawkins to couple up with.

Clare, 23, arrived as the first bombshell of the new series in South Africa on Tuesday, and wasted no time in ruffling feathers as he selected Hawkins, 27, after a day spent “grafting” the ladies.

The semi-pro footballer from Barnsley appeared to tickle the fancy of all the girls, leaving him spoilt for choice come his decision-making.

Clare announced in the episode: “It’s been a very tough decision for me and what’s made it so hard is that all the girls have such different personalities and I find them all attractive.

“It’s been a very tough decision.

“But I’ve decided to couple up with this girl because I definitely think she’ll keep me on my toes, I think she’s absolutely stunning and I know it’s only early days but I do genuinely think there’s probably something there with this girl.

“The girl I’d like to couple up with is Olivia.”

Young, 23, now awaits his fate as the only single in the villa, as he is left at risk of being the first contestant dumped at the end of the week.

The Tik Tok farmer now must impress the ladies, in hopes that one of them might choose him in the series’ first recoupling.

Two new bombshells were teased at the end of Tuesday’s episode.

Zara Lackenby-Brown and David Salako were named the latest newcomers, and have promised to “spice” up the show, following their arrivals.

Lackenby-Brown, 25, a model and property developer from London, has said she has “very high standards” and isn’t afraid to step on the ladies’ toes to find the man she wants in the villa.

Meanwhile, money advisor Salako, 24, from Essex, has admitted to being “very picky”, and shared, prior to his entrance, that he is “excited to meet new people, aside from a partner, friends as well.”

Earlier on Tuesday’s episode, Hawkins told Haris Namani that she is keen to get to know him, whether or not she gets picked by Clare.

Now that she has been chosen by the rugby player, tensions possibly lie ahead as Hawkins and Namani, 21 , continue to flirt with each other.

Viewers can catch Love Island as it returns on ITV2 tonight at 9pm.
