Love Island 2023: Everything you need to know about rumoured Bristolian contestant Anika Patel

A fashion designer from Bristol could become the next singleton to find romance in the Love Island villa. Anika Patel, 26, is rumoured to star on the dating show through its 10th series, which kicks off tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.

The starting line up was announced last week and includes a semi-professional footballer deaf in one ear, a musical theatre performer and a girl turned off by boys with lunch boxes. However, fans of the show will be on the look out for this year's surprise bombshells thrown in throughout the series to mix things up.

A creative and and artistic designer from Bristol, the Sun reports Anika is confident and assured in her own unique sense of style. The 26-year-old is looking for a partner who can carry on an engaging conversation and appreciated her creativity.

The fashionista also dreams of a partner who supports of love of all things fashion, the publication reports. She is searching for a partner who understands and appreciated her quirks and is supportive of her dreams.

Anika wouldn't be the first Love Islander from Bristol; Siânnise Fudge starred in the sixth series in 2020, coming in second place with her then partner Luke Trotman. Since her time in the villa, Siânnise has gone from dancing around on TikTok, to working with Kim Kardashian herself.

Bristolians seem to have quite the affinity for Love Island, with Maya Jama returning for her second series as show host. This will be Maya's first summer stint in the villa, which is once again set against a stunning Majorca-backdrop. After a successful first series back in January, Maya said she was feeling the pressure to 'keep it well' for the summer.

Speaking to reporters in Majorca ahead of the new series, Maya said: “It’s special. I feel now (after) the first one, I’ve got it and we’ve done it, all the nerves are gone a bit and now I’m ready to go. I’m so excited. It’s coming around so fast, I feel like we were just doing it yesterday and now it’s like ‘back at it again’."

She continued: "The only pressure I feel is because it went well last time, so I just want to keep it well.”

“I think because I’ve literally watched it since series one and I had all the opinions and been part of the Twitter crew. It’s such a key part of our culture," she said.

Love Island returns to ITV2 at 9pm tonight (Monday, June 5).
