Love Island 2022: Amber Beckford ready to cause chaos as an 'outspoken wild child'

Amber Beckford is ready to cause a stir on Love Island - describing herself as an "opinionated wild child".

The 24-year-old nanny from London is ready to set the villa alight on this new series, as she became one of the 11 contestants announced to be entering the villa next week.

Love Island kicks off next Monday June 6 at 9pm on ITV2, and ahead of the show, Amber has promised to cause some chaos when she enters the show next week as she gave her verdict on what her family and friends would think to describe her as.

She said: "Probably fun, outspoken, crazy. Most likely, a 'wild child!'"

Amber also hinted she could step on a few toes if she found her ideal man, adding: "With regards to Love Island, it is a show to find love. Girl code is definitely important to me, but I think it’s that balance isn’t it - I’ve got to put myself first!"

She is keen to meet someone in person so Love Island is the perfect place.

"I’m definitely a connection and spark kind of girl - I like to check the vibes first! In bars or I’m out with friends and someone asks for your number - I definitely prefer that first encounter because I’m so awful on my phone," she said.

"Just take me out, let’s go out and see and go from there!"

However she hates it when guys show off their wealth, finding it a right turn off.

She added: "I don’t like guys that show off. I don’t like flashy, showy-offy guys - just have a personality and make me laugh. There was this one guy and he was trying to purposefully show off his car keys and we were literally in the middle of a restaurant!"

Amber decided to enter Love Island this year as she feels it is the "right time" to find a man.

"I think it just feels like the right time. This year it definitely feels like it’s two feet in. I feel like now I’m most definitely ready, and wanting to look for a boyfriend," she said.

*Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 6th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBo x.
