Love Is Blind’s Abhishek ‘Shake’ Chatterjee has issued a public apology to his former fiancee Deepti Vempati.
The 33-year-old reality TV star was grilled over controversial comments he made about Deepti on a season 2 reunion show released on Netflix last week.
Throughout the series Shake repeatedly said he wasn’t physically attracted to Deepti to his co-stars – at one point even comparing her to his aunt.
In the end Deepti called their relationship off on their wedding day, saying she deserved “somebody who knows for sure” they want to marry her.
Earlier this month, Shake said in an Instagram video he was “not sorry” for how he acted on the dating show.
But he has since done a U-turn, posting another video in which he issued a grovelling apology to his ex.

Posting the clip on Instagram, Shake said: “I wanted to take this opportunity to really just say sorry to a woman that I know I hurt.
“Deepti, I am truly sorry for some of the things that I said.
“Things that, honestly, just could have been left unsaid or could have been said differently. Things that never should have been on national television.
The vet revealed his now-ex Deepti was his “best friend” while they were filming the show
He continued: “Even though I knew our relationship wasn’t going to end in marriage, I didn’t want what we had to end either. I loved every second of it
“I’m so, so sorry that I hurt you with my words. That’s the last thing I wanted from all this. I’m sorry Deepti.”
In the caption of the post Shake – who was one of this year’s Love Is Blind villains – said he was “ready to take accountability for my actions and be better”.
He added: “While I’ve reached out privately, I think it’s also important I apologise publicly for the sake of your family and friends that I’ve upset as well."
But some fans aren’t convinced Shake’s apology is genuine and called him out for it in the comments.
Casting doubt on his intentions, one said: “It’s only because everyone is coming for you."
Another posted: “Nah. We’re not buying this bs,” while a third wrote: “I bet your mum made you apologise."
Others were puzzled by the location he chose to make the video, which appeared to be a restaurant
“Are you in a restaurant? Mystified why you do this in a public place, truly,” one fan commented.
Another chimed in: “Bro you had to do this at Dunkin?"
Even though Shake has now apologised, it seems Deepi has already got over it and moved on with her fellow season two contestant Kyle Abrams
The construction worker revealed during the reunion special that his “biggest regret” on the show was not proposing to Deepti, so could another engagement be on the cards?
