Jamie Carragher believes Jacob Ramsey is destined to be playing Champions League football in the coming years and revealed Gary McAllister believes the youngster is destined for the top.
Ramsey fired Aston Villa to a vital 1-0 win over Southampton at Villa Park on Friday night. The midfielder’s first goal of the season lifted Villa to 13th, and eased any pressure on manager Steven Gerrard.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past, after impressing at Villa Park. And speaking after Friday night’s game, Carragher detailed a conversation with McAllister, about how Villa’s coaching staff are convinced Ramsey is destined for the very top.

“I love him. He's a super player. He doesn't look like a young kid playing in a man's game,” the former Liverpool defender said on Sky Sports following Villa's win over Ralph Hasenhuttl's side.
“When you think of the game against Man City, I thought it was interesting that he played as part of the front three, and tonight he played in midfield.
“I spoke to Gary McAllister before the game, I said to him: 'How good is Ramsey?' And he said he can go right to the top.
“We're talking about international honours and playing in the Champions League. I think he can certainly play at that level in the next couple of years.”
