LOVE Gorgie Farm hosting 'Edinburgh's Got Talent' event with special performers

Edinburgh's LOVE Gorgie Farm has announced that they are hosting an 'Edinburgh's Got Talent' event as part of their summer festival plans.

The popular local farm, in the unusual spot at the heart of Edinburgh's city, attract tens of thousands every year who pay absolutely nothing to see and interact with a number of animals including alpaca's, ducks, reptiles and a snake.

At the end of 2019, the farm announced its closure due to cash problems, but were ultimately saved by LOVE Learning Scotland. Although, having operated for over 40 years, no huge changes were made that would impact the service that staff members provide.

Located just outside the city centre, the farm provides the perfect place for families to spend the day away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets and can instead pretend they're living in the countryside for a few hours.

Hosting regular exciting events, LOVE Gorgie have taken to Facebook to announce that they are planning a special 'Edinburgh's Got Talent' event which will include special performances, acts and refreshments, with entry being free.

They said: "Exciting announcement alert. SAVE THE DATE- Saturday the 20th of August. Join us on the evening of the 20th 5-9pm for a fun filled evening, entry is free but donations welcomed. We will host our own ‘Edinburgh’s got talent’ with lots of interesting/talented acts, plus special guests. There will be food and refreshments on site, a raffle plus much, much more. We hope you can join us."

Although the format of the event is a little unclear, it promises to be a big attraction for children and families in Edinburgh and will provide a helping hand to LOVE Gorgie as they continue to steer clear of the choppy waters that was Covid-19.

The farm includes 38 animals, each with their own unique name, as well as providing a safe space for children to play and a café selling hot snacks and refreshments.
