Today, Louisville police are releasing new video from a traffic camera of the world's number one golfer, Scottie Scheffler's arrest. The video shows an incident captured by a reporter just after the arrest. Sources reveal that top police officials in Louisville are expressing concerns privately, suggesting that the charges against Scheffler should be reduced.

The most serious charge Scheffler faces is a felony second-degree assault, which some high-ranking officials within the Louisville Metro Police Department believe to be excessive. It remains uncertain whether these opinions have been shared with the county attorney's office, responsible for prosecuting the case.

A press conference scheduled for later this morning at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time will provide further details. Louisville's police chief and mayor are expected to present the complete findings of the investigation, along with additional video footage from a traffic pole camera in the vicinity.

Notably, the officer involved in Scheffler's arrest did not have his body camera activated during the encounter, leaving uncertainty about the existence of video footage of the initial interaction. Scheffler, who is not present in Louisville, is set to participate in the upcoming PGA Tour event in Fort Worth, TX.

His attorney has indicated that the forthcoming video of the arrest should align with their account of a misunderstanding between Scheffler and the officer. More information is anticipated to be revealed during the press conference later today.
