Louise Thompson confessed she fears she has leukaemia as her teeth and gums turned black following the traumatic birth of her son.
The 31-year-old Made In Chelsea star revealed to fans that she was off to the dentist to have her mouth checked and explained that she was left fearing for her life all over again after noticing her gums had turned black.
She said that she had been researching the causes and that this led her to fear that she was suffering from signs of leukaemia – but that it may have in fact have been caused by prolonged antibiotic use after she recovered from her dramatic childbirth experience.
Louise went on to reveal that she had actually died when she welcomed her son, Leo, last November before “miraculously” coming back to life.
However, she then had to spend weeks in hospital – with time spent in ICU – as she battled for survival following the dramatic birth.
After sharing a photo of herself en-route to her dentist on Thursday, Louise wrote via Instagram Stories: “I haven’t felt mentally well enough to book long overdue check ups until now, but a large part of my anxiety is spurred on by physical health issues which need resolving.
“I’ve been stuck between a rock and a hard place.
“I have a lot of black staining between my teeth and my gums on my premolars and it’s been stressing me out every time I look in the mirror.
“I was immobile in hospital for weeks so rarely brushed and I was also on antibiotics for over 2 months which can have an affect on your teeth too… but obviously I jumped to the conclusion that I have leukaemia because it can affect your mouth and your gums.
“These are some of the more minor inconveniences you have to live with when you die and miraculously come back to life.”
Louise’s astonishing confession had an immediate impact with fans, with one writing to her to explain that they had been left to feel like they were “going insane” as they suffered similar consequences after their own near death in childbirth experience.
The fan claimed their own GP had “made me out to be a hypercondriact” and that they were glad to see Louise opening up about her own experience and helping other women feel like they are not alone.
Reacting to the exchange, Louise commented further, writing: “Honestly shocked by how many people have experienced such a savage childbirth experience, but in a weird way it’s good that it happened to someone like me because I have a platform so I can help women feel less alone.”
She added: “When I’m a bit more fixed myself there are a lot of things I want to do to help.”
Louise shares her four-month-old son with her 31-year-old fitness instructor fiancé Ryan Libbey.
The reality star previously explained that it is her own impressive fitness levels that helped save her life when her labour took a drastic turn last year.
She said earlier this week: "I was also told by one of the consultants that saved my life that my pre pregnancy fitness levels are one of the few reasons that I survived. But I'll write more about that on my personal page soon."
