Louis Walsh and Anne Doyle join forces to find Ireland’s most eligible bachelor in competition

Louis Walsh and Anne Doyle are joining forces for the return of the Westmeath Bachelor competition.

The competition to find Ireland’s most eligible bachelor - The Westmeath Bachelor Competition 2023 – is back and band boss Louis and former RTÉ newsreader Anne are ready to get in the judging seats.

It’s time for the men of Ireland to step into the spotlight and show the nation they have what it takes to be the face of Ireland’s modern man.

The Midlands will play centre stage as men from all over Ireland will descend upon the town of Mullingar to become Ireland’s most eligible bachelor.

Two more judges will be joining the duo and will be announced at a later date.

Entries are open from today and organisers are calling on applicants from all ages, nationalities and orientations to apply.

Last year, the youngest entrant was 21 whilst the oldest was 62.

The final 13 of Ireland’s most eligible bachelors were whittled down from hundreds of entrants who had to undergo rigorous questions from the celeb judging panel, as well as perform a talent piece.

Talent pieces last year included singing, stand up comedy, a traditional ‘brush dance’, ventriloquism, cocktail making and much more.

Kerry farmer and musician Bryan Murphy, 25, was crowned The Westmeath Bachelor of the year 2022.

Despite the intense competition, the judges were unanimous in their choice of the winner, who won them over with a ‘charismatic personality and captivating performance on the accordion’.

Along with the title of Westmeath Bachelor, the winner receives an all-inclusive holiday to Ibiza, a new wardrobe and a cash donation to their chosen charity.

After previous success, the competition has now evolved into a three-day music and entertainment festival with some of the country’s top acts appearing on the main stage in Mullingar on the May Bank Holiday weekend of 2023.

The festival line-up for 2023 will be announced 14th January.

The Westmeath Bachelor Competition will take place Bank Holiday Sunday, April 30th 2023 in Mullingar Arts Centre.

Send your entries now by visiting www.westmeathbachelorfestival.ie or email info@westmeathbachelorfestival.ie.

Applications are open now for anyone over 18.
